Chapter 1: Introduction to Submission Guidelines
Before submitting your story, it's crucial to understand the expectations and requirements set by Express Impact. This guide outlines everything you need to know to ensure your submission aligns with our standards.
At Express Impact, we emphasize the importance of originality. Therefore, we will not accept content generated by AI. Each submission must reflect the unique insights and creativity of the individual writer.
Section 1.1: Originality is Key
No AI Content
At Express Impact, we uphold a strict no-AI policy. We believe that fresh ideas stem from individual creativity rather than automated processes. We will not consider content that merely reproduces information available online, particularly that which is generated by artificial intelligence.
Topics We Accept
Our goal is to inspire and inform our readers positively. Your stories should evoke responses like, “Oh wow, I was unaware of this. I’ve learned something new from your article—thank you for sharing!” Engaging and uplifting topics are encouraged, and we will clarify what constitutes “unwholesome” content shortly.
Section 1.2: Topics to Avoid
Prohibited Topics and Styles
We do not accept submissions that focus on erotica, politics, conspiracy theories, horror, or similar themes. Writing styles that include profanity, aggressive criticism, or other negative tones are also not permitted. While you may excel in these areas, they are not suitable for our publication.
Word Count Requirements
Submissions should range from 200 to 1,000 words. This word count does not include your title, subtitle, or kicker.
Submission Process
Drafts are highly prioritized in our review process. We may also publish pieces that have been self-published, provided they were shared within the last 24 hours.
Grammar and Proofreading
Please ensure your work is thoroughly proofread before submission. Utilizing grammar-checking software can significantly reduce errors, expediting the publication process.
Chapter 2: Enhancing Your Submission
Utilizing Tags
We encourage the use of multiple tags to increase visibility for your stories. Out of the five tags allowed, please reserve the last position for the “Express Impact” tag.
Images and Visuals
You are welcome to use original images or select from platforms like Unsplash or Pexels. Ensure proper attribution for any images not sourced from Unsplash. Additionally, content must not feature explicit imagery.
Promotions and Call to Action (CTA)
You may include one or two links to your products or profiles within your story. Please clearly indicate where these links direct your readers. If you provide more than two links, an editor will request you reduce them.
Membership Requirement
To submit your work, you must be a member of Medium. Thank you for taking the time to read through our guidelines!
