A Refreshing Morning Routine: Coffee, Work, and Family Time

Chapter 1: An Early Start
It's 4:30 AM, and I've been awake for around two hours now. With a short shift ahead in about three hours, we’re only heading in to handle inventory while the shop remains closed.
To make our trip more enjoyable, we're bringing our dog along, giving him the chance to roam freely around the store while we work. This should make him quite happy, setting a positive tone for the day.
After finishing at the shop, our next stop will be the grocery store to grab coffee, milk, and perhaps a few extra items. Then, it’s back home. Everyone will be around today, and the boys are still engrossed in video games, a routine they've maintained all night.
We recently enjoyed a delightful Memorial Day BBQ, playing Skipbo where I unfortunately lost both rounds. Nonetheless, it was a great time filled with delicious food and laughter. The boys just wrapped up cleaning the kitchen while I focused on creating KDP books.
Despite only getting about three hours of sleep, I don't feel too drained. I plan to stay awake until after work and then catch up on sleep in the afternoon. I have a few eBay orders to take care of, but I might postpone that until tomorrow since the post office is closed on Mondays.
Given that everyone is home today and tomorrow, I’ll likely just relax and hang out. Although I should have made plans for Memorial Day, it seems that rain is on the forecast, so a cozy day indoors filled with games and family time sounds perfect.
My two sons enjoy the rare opportunity to spend time together, especially since the oldest recently quit his job and school will be out in a couple of weeks. The youngest will be working a few days a week at the shop, while my daughter and I will take on shifts as needed—probably one or two each. She prefers sales, while I lean towards inventory, cleaning, freight, and filing. Working with customers is not my cup of tea; that’s her domain.
For tonight’s dinner, we’re having curry chicken paired with flatbread.
Join John and Momma for a cozy evening filled with delicious sandwiches and warm conversations during their Friday night chat.
